A high-arched foot (pes cavus) is typically more rigid than a flat foot. It doesn't pronate enough — meaning it fails to absorb shock effectively during loading. The foot's contact area with the ground is smaller, concentrating pressure on the heel and the ball of the foot (metatarsal heads).
