Pronation is a natural and essential part of gait — it's how the foot absorbs impact after heel strike. The foot rolls inward, the arch flattens, and the tissues absorb shock. This is normal.

Over-pronation occurs when this inward rolling is excessive in magnitude or duration. The arch collapses too far, the calcaneus everts too much, and the tibia rotates internally beyond its normal range. This creates a cascade of excessive forces up the kinetic chain.

Can over-pronation be fixed?
