Does Model SF treat pain?
Yes — Model SF treats the same foot, leg and back conditions as Model P, with lighter support, in a slimline shell that fits tight shoes. How does Model SF differ from other Interpod orthotics?
Model SF is ergonomically designed to sit flat in the back of the shoe, preventing the heel from lifting out while still providing support. Its narrow width and low arch make it more comfortable and take up less room, and it comes with a ¾-length replaceable cover — a perfect fit for tighter dress shoes. It treats the same conditions as Model P, with lighter support in a slimmer, more flexible shell.
What does "shank independent" mean?
Most prefabricated orthotics rely on the shoe's shank to hold them up; if the shoe doesn't have a firm shank, they squash flat. Model SF is shank independent— its arch bridges between heel and forefoot and springs under load instead of collapsing, while sitting flat in the back of the shoe. That means consistent support even in tight footwear, the same design principle as Model P.
What is NeuroFlex™?
NeuroFlex™ is Interpod's own material — a blend of polypropylene and carbon fibre. At 4 mm it's firm but highly flexible, resisting pronation to ease pain while moving with the foot to support supination. It's lightweight, durable, and impervious to moisture and odours, which is why Model SF carries a 5-year warranty.
How do I fit Model SF, and what's the guarantee?
Place it (without the cover) on top of or under your existing shoe liner at the rear of the shoe, or remove the liner and place it at the back — or slip it under the existing flat insole, where its hook shape holds it in place. For a fixed fit, peel the self-adhesive ¾ cover and press the orthotic onto it. The NeuroFlex shell is guaranteed five years; the EVA cover lasts a minimum of 30 days and is replaceable. And if Model SF doesn't work for you, return it within 90 days for a full refund.
